Hull KR are appealing Elliot Minchella's ban again, Rugby League Live can reveal. The Robins have opted to launch a second appeal of the suspension imposed on their captain, with the hearing set to take place TODAY.
Rugby League Live has learned that Rovers have opted to go down the route of a second appeal, having seen their initial attempts to overturn the suspension overturned. Minchella was handed a Grade C head contact charge which saw him land a two-match suspension. As a result, he is currently set to miss the play-off semi-final.
Rovers are not contesting the guilty verdict but instead the grading of the charge. They hope to reduce it from Grade C to Grade B, which would subsequently see a match taken off his suspensions and therefore free to play next week. Minchella served the first match of his suspension when the Robins beat Leeds Rhinos last week.

The hearing is understood to be set for this afternoon. As per protocols, Rovers had seven days to decide whether to launch a second appeal, an option they have now decided to pursue.
It's not the first time a club has decided to go down a similar route and similarly, they have been high profile cases. St Helens memorably overturned a suspension handed to Morgan Knowles ahead of the 2022 Grand Final after a second appeal. Rovers will be hoping their results are similar later today.
