Hull City have revealed a limited edition kit as the club celebrates their 120th birthday which will be worn for the one and only occasion against Cardiff City on Saturday.
City have worked with kit supplier Kappa Turkiye to create the bespoke design which is all-black with gold colouring throughout, including the iconic Tiger badge with the words '120 years' written underneath.
Only 1,904 editions of the kit will be made available from 9am on Friday morning with adult (men and women) shirts costing £55 and youth ones priced at £38, with shorts and socks starting at £12 and £24 respectively, while the club have confirmed the shirts worn by the players on Saturday will also be sold off.
The all-black Kappa jackets will also be going on sale priced at £64.99 for adults, and like the shirts, only a limited number have been produced.
Legendary former players including Ken Wagstaff and Curtis Davies took part in a secret photoshoot earlier this month at the city's Guildhall and will be among those present on Saturday at the MKM Stadium, with a host of other key figures from across the club's rich history.
A host of activities are planned across the day including a bumper commemorative matchday programme while the club have worked with Hull Central Library to create a pop-up museum which will open next month. That museum will display a host of memorabilia including vintage shirts, boots and trophies, while the Hull Daily Mail have donated a host of newspapers covering its illustrious history.
Meanwhile, inside the inner sanctum of the MKM Stadium, the dressing room area has been given a complete revamp in line with it's heritage numbers project, listing all 1,162 players to have represented the Tigers since the club’s formation in 1904.
“The stunning design of our 120-year anniversary kit is a fitting way to mark this important milestone in the history of our football club," said Joe Clutterbrook, the club's chief operating officer.
“It is only appropriate that we celebrate some of the most revered former players and managers that have contributed to some of the club’s most significant moments. I would like to place on record my thanks to the 120 Steering Group for their valuable input into this project and putting forward their ideas on how best to celebrate the anniversary. We are proud of our history, our city, and hope our supporters enjoy the nostalgia of reliving previous eras and exploring the many artefacts associated with the Tigers.”
Tickets for the game against the South Wales outfit remain on sale and have been reduced by the club to celebrate the special occasion, with prices starting at just £3.50 and all adult tickets throughout the stadium priced at just £15 and are available right here.
Hull Live have spoken to a host of key figures throughout the club's history including Nick Barmby, Peter Taylor and owner Acun Ilicali for a special edition of the 1904 Club podcast, which is out now and can be downloaded below...
