A group of 16 men gathered on June 24, 1904, at the Manchester Hotel in Hull and on that night, Hull City Association Football Club was born.
Playing their games at The Boulevard, the home of Hull Rugby League Club, Anlaby Road Cricket Ground and Dairycoates before the move to Boothferry Park and then the MKM Stadium as it's now known for sponsorship purposes, the club have enjoyed a fascinating, and dramatic existence - as they say, 'it's never dull in Hull.'
One hundred and 20 years on, the club known across the world as the Tigers, continue to thrive as they look to recapture the recent glory days of their promotions to the Premier League, FA Cup final and their foray into Europe.
Since that night in early summer all those years ago, rarely if ever has there been a dull moment for those who hold City dear to their heart, whether it be life in the old Second Division, almost going out of business, promotions, relegations, more promotions and relegations, and so much more.
To celebrate City's landmark birthday, Hull Live spoke to some of those who have played their part in the club's fascinating history for a special edition of the 1904 Club podcast - Brian Horton, Peter Taylor, Justin Whittle, Andy Dawson, Lewie Coyle, Regan Slater, David Burns, Nick Barmby and owner Acun Ilicali.
