But a long standing debate has divided even the best of us - just when do you add your milk to your brew? Well the question has finally been answered by none other than Yorkshire Tea.
According to the tea experts, there's a sure fire way to make sure you end up with the best cup of tea around.

First, you should run the tap a while before pouring it into your kettle - this helps to keep the oxygen levels up, something that apparently makes your brew with a little extra flavour. You should also only boil your kettle once.
Next, add your tea and water, and stir a little. The next part is key: you need to have patience. According to the tea experts, you should wait around 4-5 minutes to allow all the flavour to soak into the water.
Give your teabag a squeeze, but not too much. If you mash it, it will cause the tea to taste bitter.
Now here comes the important part. Once all of this is done, now's the time to add your milk. And it turns out there's an important reason why.
Yorkshire Tea said: "It’s all a question of heat. Tea brews best in very hot water, but adding milk cools things down. So if you’re brewing tea directly in a mug, it’s better to add the milk last, after it’s brewed."
