It's been a long time between drinks for Hull's Sonny Taylor and the aspiring cruiserweight will be hoping to make up for lost time when he makes his ring return on Saturday night. The unbeaten Taylor tops a packed card of professional action at Hull's City Hall in what is the latest Tommy Coyle/VIP Promotions show at the famous venue.

Taylor has not boxed since his impressive stoppage of Ryan Labourn at the same venue back in April of this year. While world level boxers seem to have developed the habit of fighting just once or twice a year these days, it's not ideal for someone climbing the ranks like Taylor.

In what will be his 10th pro bout, Taylor faces Sheffield's Perry Howe in the top of the bill fight, with a host of fellow local boxers making up a busy undercard.

Former British light-welterweight champion Curtis Woodhouse will unleash his new prospect Adrian King, a heavyweight the ex-Hull City player says is going to go all the way in the sport. While King is making his debut, there will be second pro contests for Hull welterweight Louis West and Bridlington super-middleweight Roan Stanley.

Joining them on the card are Hull's own Les Urry, Chelsey Arnell, Hashim Rehman and Logan Richardson, plus Scunthorpe's Matthew Harness.

Tickets are still available from the City Hall box office or from vipboxing.co.uk with doors openi9ng at 6:30pm on Saturday night and the first bout scheduled to start at 7pm.
