Remembering Hull's old interior design shop Au Naturale
Au Naturale was the go-to place for kitting out your home
Once a popular destination for Hull shoppers, Au Naturale was the go-to place for decorating your home with new furniture and homeware.
Originally on Kingston Retail Park, the store later moved into the old Woolworths building, in King Edward Street, in 2009. Over the years, Au Naturale supplied the furniture and decorations for countless room makeovers all across the city.
You could get everything from plump cushions to pictures and even sofas and coffee tables - all at pretty reasonable prices. Of course, this harks back to a time when most people would browse and physically buy their homeware in-store, a routine that seems to be going out of fashion in the age of online shopping.

The shop sadly closed in 2010, only one year after it opened in the old Woolworths building along with sister company Ethel Austin.
Below are a collection of photographs of Au Naturale when it was still a feature of Hull's shopping scene. How well do you remember it?
