A Hull-based sound collective is putting on a music and dance event in response to the recent riots in Hull.
LEG~IT! is the group behind Rave Against Hate and will be bringing together a diverse line-up of DJs, artists and speakers for a party that is all about unity and community. Mike Aistrop, of LEG~IT!, said: “We felt we needed to respond to the riots in a positive way.
“We have organised a charity night called Rave Against Hate. The event will have DJs and speakers representing some of the communities often affected by this hate.
“All money raised will be distributed among a number of local charities who are working with our communities. We have also linked up with two national campaigns, Love Music Hate Racism and Stand Up To Racism.”
Rave Against Hate, crossing music genres including house, drum and bass, techno, jungle and electro, will take place at the Polar Bear Music Club and promises “an unforgettable night of beats and bass”. Emphasizing inclusivity and acceptance, the event will bring together a host of talented performers who share a common goal - the power of music and words to stand against hate and discrimination in all forms.
The organisers said the iconic Polar Bear Music Club was the perfect backdrop for a celebration of diversity. With its vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, revellers could "dance freely and connect with like-minded individuals".
“With its pulsating energy and commitment to social change, Rave Against Hate is more than just a party—it's a movement dedicated to creating a better world through the universal language of music. Join the Leg~It! Crew and Polar Bear Music Club to help spread the message, one tune at a time.”
