This summer saw over 230 walkers dig out their walking boots to tackle 12 miles of East Yorkshire countryside, shoreline, villages and towns to raise £8,524 for local causes.

Organised by Dove House Hospice, the Pub to Pub Walk took place on August 10 and featured a circular route that started and finished at the Humber Bridge Country Park in Hessle. Along the route, participants were able to call in for a well-deserved refreshment stop at the Country Park Hotel; Duke of Cumberland; Swan & Cygnet; Wheatsheaf; Darleys and the Marquis of Granby.

The day featured Dove House Hospice, RSPCA Hull and East Riding, fitmums and friends and Aim Higher. Dan Clipson, senior fundraiser at Dove House, said: “We are incredibly pleased with the reception to our first ever Pub to Pub Walk.

“The day was a huge success and we anticipate that the final figure raised will be over £10,000 for Dove House Hospice and our charity partners. Support from the community is of huge importance to causes across Hull and East Yorkshire and we very much look forward to the event taking place again in summer 2025.”
