A new coffee shop has opened on Newland Avenue.
After a few weeks of preparing, C&D's Coffee House opened its doors on July 22. Owners Danny Wilson and Chantelle Myers have been hard at work completely transforming their business having only received the keys just over two weeks ago.
Following a secret soft launch over the weekend, the new cafe is now open for all - serving up coffees, teas and ever-changing toasties every week.

Owner Danny Wilson said: "It's been real good. We've not been overly busy [over the soft launch], but we weren't expecting it while all the students are away - being on Newland Ave."
Having a background in working in bars, Danny has decided to swap pulling pints for brewing coffee. "I actually enjoy the service side. I thought if I just change industries, get the daytime trade, get myself a nice early night every night, what's wrong with that?"
"We're a coffee shop, but our food menu is effectively just toasties and pasties, standard coffee shop sort of grub."
C&D's signature is a cheese and ham toastie. Although their complete food menu is not live as of yet, the owners plan to have a wider range of experimental weekly toasties.
The planning for the coffee shop has been influenced by a lot of customer feedback. After inheriting the building's ibright pink layout, the owners took to Instagram to ask people to vote on the cafe's new colour scheme. The result is a modern autumnal aesthetic of greens, orange and beige.
