A highly-anticipated new Netflix series, filmed in Hull, will be released on the streaming platform next week.

'Bodies' is an eight-part series, which looks into the lives of four different detectives trying to solve murders in different time periods, from the 1890s to 2050. The series is set in London, however, filming locations included Hull, Grimsby, Leeds and Bradford.

The Netflix series is just one of the recent productions that has used 'Hullywood' as a stage. In 2022, the cast and extras were spotted filming in Hull's Old Town and Princes Quay Shopping Centre.

People from Hull and Grimsby were encouraged to sign up to be extras in the production. In Hull's High Street in October 2022, extras could be seen waving Union Jacks and English flags, as well as wearing face paint.

Onlookers could spot groups of 'protestors' chanting, while 'policemen' in riot gear intervened. A knight on an armoured white horse also entered the scene.

In Grimsby, filming took place in the Kasbah area of Grimsby Docks. It is thought that the World War II scenes were filmed here.

The release date for the series - based on the graphic novel by Si Spencer - is Thursday, October 19. Notable cast members include Peaky Blinder's Stephen Graham and The Queen's Gambit's Jacob Fortune-Lloyd.
