The ITV show started out as a TV movie before spanning a whopping 14 series between 1988 and 2002.
The show focused on the drama and happenings of life as members of the London Fire Brigade.
The Blue Watch team who worked at Blackwall fire station faced some terrifying encounters and tragic exits, including one character being buried alive.
The camera crews had to be committed and cautious when working with fire.

Emergencies - or 'shouts' - would not only be fires, but included a range of incidents from cats up trees to major road accidents.
Despite being a London-based show, the whole country couldn't keep their eyes off the screen.
But after almost 20 years since the final episode aired many of the cast have completely disappeared.
We've had a look at where the cast of London's Burning have been up to since leaving their pole swinging, fire engine blaring days behind.
Glen Murphy - George Green
Actor Glen was a firm fan favourite as George and appeared in every series of the show.
You could call the West Ham-born star an expert in pretending to work in the emergency service; he also appeared in episodes of The Bill from 1986 until 2002, at the same time as working on London's Burning.
His work didn't stop there as he went on to star in football series Dream Team, and Midsummer Murders.
His film work includes Shoreditch, Fathers of Girls, The Hooligan Wars, Repton Boxing Club, Lords of London, and Sabini.
Aside from his great career in acting, Glen was also an awarded an MBE for his charity work.
The 64-year-old is a patron for Support Line, and appears to have committed his time to his charity work.
Richard Walsh - Bert 'Sicknote' Quigley
Richard played Bert - or Sicknote - as he was usually called, for 14 years.
Since then, he has appeared in Midsomer Murders and Doctors.
Aside from his success in TV series acting, the star appeared in films First Light, and Ramanujan.
He then went back into the series world staring in Genius, Rosamunde Pilcher, before appearing in much-loved Netflix series The Crown in 2019.
On The Crown he played trade unionist Joe Gromley.
The 69-year-old actor has been married to wife Sarah for 45 years and the pair have a child together.
Ben Onwukwe - Stuart 'Recall' Mackenzie
Brixton-born Ben played 'Recall' - nicknamed because of his impressive photographic memory - for 11 years.
The actor has kept busy since the show ended, appearing in soaps including EastEnders and Coronation Street.
His role on Corrie was as an unnamed Judge at the sentencing for John Stape for kidnapping and false imprisonment of Rosie Webster, played by Helen Flanagan.
He returned to the programme in 2013 to represent Tyrone Dobbs as he went on trial for several charges of domestic violence against his former partner Kirsty Soames.
Ben also starred in medical shows Casualty, Holby City and most recently, Doctors.
In 2018 he starred in Netflix series Safe and is a member of BBC's Radio Drama Company.
The 63-year-old actor performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2019.
Heather Peace - Sally 'Gracie' Fields
One of the few female firefighters, Heather played Sally for four years.
Since her stint on the show, Heather has continued to act on and off but also has a music career.
The Yorkshire actress has also appeared in Waterloo Road before appearing on London's Burning, and following the show starred in The Chase (the drama series), and Lip Service.
The star has released a number of albums and singles, reaching number 43 in the UK Albums Charts, and number nine in the independent album charts.
The 44-year-old actress came out at age 19 and has used her platform to campaign for LGBTQ+ rights.
Peace has hosted and curated her own "Heather Peace Presents" stage in several editions of Manchester Pride.
In July 2016, Diva Magazine announced Peace as its new columnist.
Peace said it was an honour for her to be part of a magazine that was relevant to her coming out.
Heather has been with partner Ellie since 2014, and she has three children.
Michael Garner - Geoffrey 'Poison' Pearce
Actor Michael played Geoffrey for nine years and since then he has established a notable theatre career, appearing in a number of productions.
The 66-year-old has also appeared on TV in Casualty, EastEnders and Coronation Street.
The actor also starred in Legend 17, and The Merry Wives of Windsor.
What's more Michael has randomly appeared in an Ellie Goulding music video.
For her track How Long Will I Love You, Michael played the man Ellie kisses in a car park while carrying out a series of pranks.
He is quite the gentlemen with the glamorous ladies as he is he married to model Paula Hamilton who is best known for appearing in a Volkswagen Golf advert, and appearing as a judge on Britain's Next Top Model.
The top model reportedly admitting losing her virginity to Simon Cowell.
John Alford - Billy Ray
John, 49, appeared in London's Burning for five years, having previously starred in Grange Hill.
He appeared in the film version of the Hatton Garden Job but he has had a number of run ins with the law, including a 2006 conviction for drink-driving.
Then in 2018 he pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault on a police officer and guilty to a charge of criminal damage to a vehicle belonging to Camden Council.
He was bailed and then in January 2019 he pleaded guilty to two counts of resisting an officer and was given a 12-month community order.
