An arts festival is coming to Hull - aiming to provide a creative outlet and to inspire new ways of making films.

Returning from a successful debut year last year, UNTHINKABLE returns October 2 - 6 with more events and workshops to create a platform for budding filmmakers.

While the submission period for the main award ceremony is now, there are still plenty of events planned for a weeks worth of celebration.

Keaton told Hull Live: "Last year, we only had one screening and one art exhibition. This year, we've really built on that success and have 16 events across huge venues this year." Some of the event spaces include Humber Street Gallery, Polar Bear and Hull University.

"We really want to break down the barriers to all creative industries. Alongside our screenings, we have things like the art exhibition, a couple of music nights, all sorts of bits and pieces celebrating the arts and collaborations with film. You have people in music who might do soundtracks for a film, graphic design for posters, we just want to bring everybody together and inspired."

With 16 events spread across four days, organisers have made accessibility a priority. The events and workshops are a mix of free and ticketed.

Like last year, there will be an award ceremony for all the films submitted by budding filmmakers. "In that are 16 films, all submitted by a mixture of local and international films. The judges on the evening and the winners will get a custom trophy designed by an artist and a cash prize. That's the kind of main event, and that'll be a really good evening."

Following the award ceremony, attendees and nominees will be able to get together and network with one another to discuss the industry. "It'll be something you haven't seen before, it might even be UNTHINKABLE," jokes Keaton.
