A huge night celebrating the 1990s is coming to Hull.
Hosted by We Love The 90s, the event space in Princes Quay will be transformed into Hull's 'Biggest 90s Dance Party'. Organisers say that the event has nearly sold out its 1500 capacity venue, and hopes that the event can become a regular occurrence so people don't have to venture out the city to similar events.
Dean, one of the organisers, told Hull Live: "We're trying to put on a small concert, festival-ly feel. We've been running small events throughout the city for 20 odd years, and it seems everywhere you go people are going to Sheffield, Leeds for the '90 events and wondered why people are travelling out, why doesn't Hull have a big original '90s night?
"It's good for the city, putting it on their doorsteps. It seems to have worked, there's about 50 tickets left. We've got festival lighting, pyrotechnics and all that."
"We want to make it an annual thing - or every six months."
This event, hosted on Saturday, September 28 will feature plenty of live acts from the decade. These include:
- Technotronic
- Phats & Small
- Alex Party
- Urban Cookie Collective
- JX
- 2 Funky 2
