Emmaus Hull & East Riding is celebrating a remarkable fundraising achievement after securing £10k to fund the replacement of two vital outreach service vans for aiding the homeless.
The charity launched a crucial call for funds in May after two indispensable vans fell into disrepair.
The campaign swiftly garnered momentum, with over 30 donations and support from local fundraisers, reaching their target in less than two months.

Stephanie Dixon, Director of Emmaus Hull & East Riding, expressed immense gratitude: "Our community was blown away by the response to our outreach van appeal and is extremely grateful to everyone who has made a donation. Using the funds, we've already purchased one replacement van and are currently sourcing the second."
Emmaus Hull & East Riding's mission extends beyond offering shelter; they also provide training, job opportunities, and targeted support for those who have faced homelessness. Their outreach service is a critical arm of their efforts, reaching out to those living on the streets.
Highlighting the importance of mobility, Stephanie stated: "Our Emmaus outreach team cover many miles each week, providing support and distributing items to people who are street homeless. Having reliable vans that enable our team to reach people in often remote locations is an essential part of the support package we offer, breaking the cycle of homelessness."
The outreach team of the charity, which includes trained support workers, local volunteers and individuals with first-hand experience of homelessness, travels across East Riding to provide assistance and advice to those living on the streets. They also offer essential items and direct people towards further support.
In addition to contributions from supporters and the general public, Emmaus Hull & East Riding received a substantial donation from a charitable funder and £1k raised during a 'Florida scramble' golf day at Kilnwick Percy Golf Club in Pocklington.
