Deadpool fans meet 'Britain's ugliest dog' and film star Peggy at Hull Cineworld
The "runt of the litter" now mingles with A-listers
A famous dog called Peggy enjoyed a meet-and-greet with fans at Hull's Cineworld today.
The bald mutt and her iconic dangling tongue appear in the Deadpool and Wolverine movie with co-stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, now showing in cinemas. Peggy stars as "Dogpool" who is protagonist Wade Wilson’s canine sidekick in the blockbuster.
Peggy, from the East Riding, became a sensation after winning the title of "Britain's Ugliest Dog" two years ago. Her owner Holly Middleton took Peggy to meet fans at the Cineworld in Kingswood Retail Park today.

She arrived fresh from her US press tour in time to meet fans at Cineworld at 10am this morning. The five-year-old Pug and Chinese Crested cross posed for selfies with fans.
Matt Dahan, founder of ParrotPrint, which held Britain's Ugliest Dog competition, said it was immediately obvious Peggy had star quality. “Peggy’s success is a classic rags to riches story," he said in a previous interview.
"She started life as the runt of an accidental litter and was the last one to be homed after all her brothers and sisters were selected for adoption, and now she is a Hollywood superstar."
