Coldplay, one of the biggest bands on the planet, are heading to Hull.
The chart-topping act has announced they will play two nights on Sewell Group Craven Park, home of Hull Kingston Rovers, as part of their upcoming world tour.
Glastonbury headliners earlier this year, the British rock band will play in East Hull on August 18th and 19th ahead of six planned dates at Wembley Stadium. Organisers have confirmed that Hull and London will be the only European cities they will perform in next year.
It's an astonishing coup for the city and Hull KR, who are enjoying a terrific season both on and off the field. Rovers are currently second in the table and closing in on a first-ever appearance in a Super League Grand Final while they announced an expansion of the stadium over the weekend to combat growing demand for membership sales.
Coldplay are renowned for the live shows, selling out some of the biggest venues around the world. They have won nine Brit awards, produced 18 top 10 hits in the UK and headlined numerous festivals throughout their time at the top.
The Paradise singers are on an ongoing world tour that started in 2022. Music of the Spheres Tour started in Costa Rica and will head to New Zealand later this year. However, the new dates are confirmation of another extension to the tour, with Hull joining some of the biggest cities in the world to host the band on what is their eight concert tour.
