Hull was recently named the UK's "most affordable city" to buy a home.
As many as 92 per cent of properties in our city are for sale at less than the UK's average house price of £217,502.
The research, by a national online estate agent, showed Hull topped the list ahead of Birkenhead and Kilmarnock, where 91.8 per cent of properties are below the national average.
But where are the most affordable homes here? We've compiled a list of five properties – focusing on houses, rather than flats – which are available for under £50,000.
1) Clifton Gardens, west Hull
Located within easy reach of Hessle Road , this two bed property is on the market for £40,000 with Spring Estate Agents.
Priced to allow for a "degree of modernisation", it nonetheless has a kitchen with a range-style oven and a decent bathroom.
2) Aberdovey Close, Bransholme
This end terrace, located near to the top edge of Bransholme , is on the market for £40,000 with Beercocks.
For sale with no chain, it has two double bedrooms, a lounge and dining kitchen and an enclosed rear garden.

The vacant property, being sold by Tulip Estate Agency, has a potential net rental income of £5,400 per annum.
