This summer will see hundreds of hikers dig out their walking boots to tackle 12 miles of East Yorkshire’s beautiful countryside – including the Humber shoreline, villages and towns - all in support of worthy local causes.

Organised by Hull’s Dove House Hospice, the Pub to Pub Walk takes place on Saturday, August 10 and takes in a circular route starting and finishing at the Humber Bridge Country Park in Hessle. Along the route, participants can call in for a well-deserved refreshment stop at the Country Park Hotel, Hessle Foreshore; Duke of Cumberland, North Ferriby; Swan & Cygnet, Swanland; Wheatsheaf, Kirk Ella, and Darleys and the Marquis of Granby, in Hessle.

Dan Clipson, senior fundraiser at Dove House, said: “We are delighted to launch the hospice’s first ever Pub to Pub Walk. Support from the community is of huge importance to causes across Hull and East Yorkshire and it is hoped that the event raises thousands of pounds locally as walkers challenge themselves and have lots of fun at the same time.”
